House vote on health care this week

Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have had enough with the health
care debate -- they are pressing for a floor vote in the
House THIS WEEK and Pelosi is guaranteeing passage:

"When I take this bill to the floor, it will win," Pelosi said.

Obama and Pelosi are so desperate to rush the bill through
that they are threatening to bypass the Energy and Commerce
Committee where a group of Democrats are still raising
objections.

In short, Obama and Pelosi are determined to pass socialized
ObamaCare BEFORE their August recess because opposition is
mounting and they are losing momentum!

+ + House Floor Vote this week!

This new fast-track strategy unfolded shortly after Obama's
bulldog Rahm Emanuel met with Democratic leaders and undoubtedly
issued the marching orders for the House to pass the bill
this week.

But we still have two chances to defeat ObamaCare in the
House -- first in the Energy and Commerce Committee and
then when they bring this monstrosity of a bill to the
floor for a vote.

+ + Action #1 -- Sign the Petition!

We just crossed 270,000 signers and we want to deliver 3
00,000 petitions this WEDNESDAY to the House leadership.

Our records show that you have not yet signed. Please go
here to sign and be included in this petition delivery to the
House this week:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=20524&RID=16815421

+ + Action #2 -- Fax Key House Members And Say
"No" To ObamaCare

The Energy and Commerce Committee is taking up the bill TODAY.
We have focused our FaxFire on this Committee and other key
Democrats.

Even if you have done so already, please
go here right now to send your faxes opposing
socialized health care to key members of this House
committee along with your two Senators and
Representative:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=20520&CID=122&RID=16815421

(As always, if you want to send your own faxes, we have provided
the fax numbers and sample text for you. Just click here to
access that information:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=20521&CID=122&RID=16815421

Again, Obama and Pelosi are desperate to get their socialized
health care plan passed -- so much so that they are even
threatening to bypass the objections of fellow Democrats!

Please... take action today by signing the petition and sending
faxes. And please alert your friends. Thanks for taking action.

Please contact Governor Brewer TODAY

three important NRA-backed bills (Senate Bill 1113, Senate Bill 1168, and Senate Bill 1243) are en route to the desk of Governor Jan Brewer (R) for her consideration. Please call Governor Brewer and respectfully ask her to sign these pro-gun bills.

SB1113 would allow concealed carry permit holders to take concealed handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they are not consuming.

SB1168 would permit a law-abiding individual to store their firearms in their locked motor vehicle while parked on a publicly accessible parking lot controlled by their employer or a business they frequent. This bill will protect your right to keep a firearm in your car if you choose to hunt or target shoot before or after work. SB1168 would also allow an individual to keep a firearm in their vehicle for self-defense during their commute to and from work.

SB1243 would clarify the statutory definition of defensive display of a firearm. This clarification of defensive display of a firearm is a valuable addition to your right to self-defense.

Anti-gun business groups and gun control activists are urging the Governor to veto these bills. Please contact Governor Brewer TODAY and thank her for all of her past support and respectfully encourage her to sign SB1113, SB1168, and SB1243 into law. The Governor can be reached by phone at (602) 542-4331, toll-free at 1-(800) 253-0883, or click here to send email.

CAP AND TRADE VOTE SOON!!!!

from Michelle Malkin

We celebrated our freedoms this Independence Day. Now, it’s time to fight for them. Hope you are feeling energized. There is much work to be done.

On the front-burner: Defeating the cap-and-tax bill.

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee begins hearings on Tuesday.

Spruiell and Williamson have an excellent rundown of Waxman-Markey’s garden of piggish delights. The unions get a cap-and-pay-off. Heritage must-read research and analysis here.

Which senators to target? Here:

Democrats and the two independents who caucus with them control 60 Senate seats. But more than a dozen have expressed concern over costs. They include Democrats from industry-heavy Ohio and Michigan, coal-dependent Indiana and oil-rich Louisiana.

Only a few Republicans appear open to emissions limits, notably two moderates from Maine — Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe — and Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who championed emissions limits in his presidential campaign (though he has expressed reservations about the House bill).

The Senate bill will emerge from several committees — including the finance, foreign relations, commerce and agriculture committees — with dramatically different memberships and priorities.

The energy committee already has approved its chunk with wide bipartisan support. It includes a requirement to produce more electricity from renewable sources, but also expands drilling — a possible deal-breaker for environmentalists.

Boxer’s committee will center its work on cap and trade. The House bill would cut U.S. emissions by 17% below 2005 levels by 2020 and 83% by 2050. Environmentalists expect Boxer, who said she was “looking closely” at those limits, to strengthen them.

Yes, the fate of cap-and-tax is in the hands of Republicans like John McCain. As I warned last May, Sen. McCain has been a member of the global warming hysteria cult for years. A reminder:

Climatologist Patrick Michaels had McCain pegged four years ago, when The Maaaveerrick convened ridiculously, eco-Chicken Little-stacked hearings:

Recent U.S. Senate hearings into alleged global warming, chaired by Arizona Republican John McCain, were among the “most biased” that a noted climatologist has ever seen - “much less balanced than anything I saw in the Clinton administration,” he said.

Patrick J. Michaels is the author of a new book “Meltdown: The Predictable Distortion of Global Warming by Scientists, Politicians, and the Media.” He is an environmental sciences professor at the University of Virginia who believes that claims of human-caused “global warming” are scientifically unfounded.

Michaels spoke with CNSNews.com Thursday following a panel discussion sponsored by the libertarian Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., where Michaels also serves as a senior fellow in environmental studies.

“John McCain, a Republican, has probably held the most biased hearing of all,” Michaels said. McCain is a big proponent of limiting greenhouse gas emissions, which he believes are causing “global warming.” The Arizona senator also “is trying to define himself as an environmental Republican, which he is going to use to differentiate himself from his rivals for the (presidential) nomination in 2008,” according to Michaels.

You can bet McCain won’t be visiting with Michaels on his climate change tour anytime soon. The truth would get in the way of his crusade:

Citing a visit he had to the Arctic with several U.S. senators last summer, McCain made it clear that he believed human-caused “global warming” was a certainty.

“It was remarkable going up on a small ship next to this glacier and seeing where it had been just 10 short years ago and how quickly it’s receded,” McCain told the New York Times…

…McCain also warned about what he saw as the rapid pace of Arctic warming, evidenced by the arrival of wildlife that had never previously been seen in the region. “The Inuit language for 10,000 years never had a word for robin and now there are robins all over their villages,” he told the Times.

Michaels refuted McCain’s assertions about the North Pole, noting that the Arctic has actually been warmer in the past than it is now.

“It was warmer 4 to 7,000 years ago [in the Arctic.] Every climatologist knows that. I saw no mention of that in the Arctic report that was paraded in front of McCain,” Michaels said. He added that the past warming of the Arctic couldn’t possibly be blamed on greenhouse gas emissions since it occurred long before the industrial era.

Three Important Pro-Gun Bills Head to the Governor’s Desk!

Today, the Arizona Senate passed Senate Bill 1113 by a vote of 19-8. The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Jan Brewer (R) for her consideration. The Governor has ten days, not counting Sundays, to sign or veto the bill.

Senate Bill 1113, introduced by State Senator Jack Harper (R-4), would allow concealed carry permit holders to take concealed handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they are not consuming.

As we reported, two other bills (Senate Bill 1168 and Senate Bill 1243) have already made their way to the Governor.

Governor Brewer can be reached by phone at (602) 542-4331, toll-free at 1-(800) 253-0883, or click here to send email.

Senate Bill 1113 TODAY!!

Thanks to all your phone calls and emails the Arizona legislature passed two very important bills, Senate Bill 1168, "The Parking Lot Bill," and Senate Bill 1243, "The Defensive Display Bill.” Both bills passed final votes and are on the way to Governor Jan Brewer's (R) for her consideration, but the session is not over yet. Senate Bill 1113, "The Restaurant Carry Bill," MUST pass today or it could be lost in the rush to end of the 2009 legislative session.

Senate Bill 1113, introduced by State Senator Jack Harper (R-4), would allow concealed carry permit holders to take concealed handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they are not consuming.

It is critical that you call your State Legislators and respectfully urge them to make sure SB1113 is voted on in the House and the Senate TODAY! Click the following links to contact your Representative and Senator. To help identify your legislators please click here.

Also, please call and email Governor Jan Brewer and politely ask her to sign SB1168 and SB1243 as soon as they reach her desk. Governor Brewer has always been a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and was a featured speaker at the 2009 NRA Annual Meeting in Phoenix this past May, but she still needs to hear from you to encourage her to sign these important measures. NO to the CARBON TAX

TOMORROW (Friday), the House will vote on the Pelosi/ Obama-
pushed massive carbon tax -- what the Wall Street Journal
today is calling the "biggest tax in American history."

That means we have just a few hours left to voice our opposition.

The Journal says the bill "defies the laws of economics" and
then lambasts the Congressional Budget Office for totally
ignoring the negative effects on the economy this bill will cause.

For example, Heritage Foundations estimates that the cap-and-trade
Carbon Tax will:

"Reduce aggregate Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by
$9.6 trillion"

"Destroy up to 2.5 million jobs in some years"

"Raise electric rates 90%, gasoline prices by 74%, and
natural gas prices by 55% after adjusting for inflation"

"Raise a typical family's average annual energy bill
by $1,500."

Call your Representative and key House leaders and tell them you
oppose H.R. 2454!

Arizona Senator Attempting to Water Down Important Pro-Gun Bill!

House Bill 2474, sponsored by State Representatives John Kavanagh (R-8) and Frank Antenori (R-30), would permit law-abiding citizens to keep a firearm locked in their privately owned vehicle when parked on their employer’s publicly accessible parking lot or a business they frequent.

State Senator Carolyn Allen (R-8) is attempting to attach an amendment to HB2474 that would water down the language of the bill, essentially rendering the legislation useless to Arizona’s law-abiding gun owners.

Please contact Senator Allen TODAY and respectfully voice your opposition to her attempt to gut HB2474. Senator Allen can be reached by phone at (602) 926-4480, by fax at (602) 417-3155, or email callen@azleg.gov.

Arizona Woman Writes Open Letter To Our Nation's Leadership

If you agree with her, please sign the petition.

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Glenn Beck's Common Sense
Now available in book stores nationwide...

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

Two Pro-Gun Measures Pass Senate, Move to House in Arizona

Please Contact Your State Representatives Today!

This week, the Arizona Senate passed two important pro-gun bills (Senate Bill 1113 and Senate Bill 1243). Both bills now head to the House where they await a committee assignment.

SB1113 was passed yesterday by an 18-10 vote (with two not voting). Introduced by State Senator Jack Harper (R-4), SB1113 would give concealed carry permit holders the right to take concealed handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they are not consuming.

SB1243 was passed on Monday by a 21-7 vote (with two not voting). Sponsored by State Senator Russell Pearce (R-18), SB1243 would clarify the statutory definition of defensive display of a firearm. This clarification of defensive display of a firearm is a valuable addition to your right to self-defense.

Please contact your State Representatives TODAY and respectfully urge them to support SB1113 and SB1243. Contact information for your State Representatives can be found by clicking here.

Two Pro-Gun Advancements Making Progress in Arizona!

Today, the Committee of the Whole passed Senate Bill 1243 with no amendments and Senate Bill 1113 with only the NRA-backed amendment. Two hostile amendments were defeated thanks to the help from our strong supporters in the Senate. Both bills now head to the Senate floor for a third reading on Monday, June 15.

SB1243, sponsored by State Senator Russell Pearce (R-18), would clarify the statutory definition of defensive display of a firearm. This clarification of defensive display of a firearm is a valuable addition to your right to self-defense.

SB1113, introduced by State Senator Jack Harper (R-4), would give concealed carry permit holders the right to take concealed handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they are not consuming.

Please take the time to thank the Senators who supported these bills. Also, we would like to show our appreciation to our strong allies and strong NRA supporters, State Senators Jack W. Harper (R-4), Jonathan Paton (R-30), and Steve Pierce (R-1). Their effort to help our cause was essential and the passing of these bills could not have happened with out them. Arizona: Senate Judiciary Committee to Hear Two Pro-Gun Bills!

On Monday June 8th two very important pro-gun bills head to the Senate Judiciary Committee. It is vital that we communicate and respectfully express our desired support of these two bills.

Senate Bill 1243, sponsored by State Senator Russell Pearce (R-18), would clarify the statutory definition of defensive display of a firearm. This clarification of defensive display of a firearm is a valuable addition to your right to self-defense.

Senate Bill 1113, introduced by State Senator Jack Harper (R-4), would give customers the right to take concealed handguns into restaurants that serve alcohol. State Senator Jack Harper (R-4), the restaurant industry, and NRA have worked to craft new language that will be used in place of the currently proposed posting requirements, which will have to be added as an amendment in committee. Over 30 states currently have restaurant carry provisions. In 2005, the Arizona legislature passed a restaurant carry provision, which was vetoed by previous Governor Janet Napolitano. Just this week, Tennessee passed legislation enabling permit holders to carry a firearm for self-defense in restaurants that serve alcohol.

Please contact the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and respectfully urge them to support SB 1243. Also, please ask them to support SB 1113 with the NRA-backed amendment. The appropriate contact information can be found below.

Higher Taxes Coming to Arizona

If you are concerned about the Gov. Jan Brewer trying to raise taxes in order to fix the budget crisis, read on.

Dear Arizona Taxpayer,

Gov. Jan Brewer is trying to get the Arizona Legislature to send a tax increase proposal to the ballot.

The proposal would increase state taxes by a billion dollars a year for three years.

In the middle of a recession.

At a time when many families are already struggling financially and when many businesses are already laying off workers and cutting back on production.

PLEASE CONTACT GOV. BREWER TODAY and tell her you think raising taxes on families and businesses during a recession is a BAD IDEA.

Please send Gov. Brewer a quick email, or better still, leave her a phone message, and ask her to start listening to taxpayers, and to stop listening to the political consultants and fixers who have given her such bad advice.

Contacts for Gov. Brewer’s communications office are:

Email: psenseman@az.gov Phone: (602) 542-1342

APRIL 15th, TIME TO ACT

This Wednesday is the big day - the April 15th Tea Parties to protest the uncontrolled government spending, bailouts, higher taxes and socialistic policies.

Unite at the Arizona Tea Party!
The government continues to spend hand over fist, taking a bigger and bigger slice of our money and our children’s and grandchildren’s future earnings. Americans are starting to understand that these huge special interest projects and programs create severe economic burdens on American families which threaten their livelihood now and into the future.

Tea Party

Unite at the Arizona Tea Party! It is time to act. Please comment if you will be attending. If it is possible, we will be establishing a meeting point.
The government continues to spend hand over fist, taking a bigger and bigger slice of our money and our children’s and grandchildren’s future earnings. Americans are starting to understand that these huge special interest projects and programs create severe economic burdens on American families which threaten their livelihood now and into the future.

The time has come to stand up and be heard. We are simply asking that every taxpaying American citizen join the movement to make our voices be heard. Help us make this the nation's best and largest tea party protest on Wednesday, April 15th.

Rule for the Tax Day Tea Party:

* No violence, no threats, no profanity, no racism, no law-breaking.

* Law enforcement officers must be treated with respect.

* Stay out of the street at all times, except when using a crosswalk with the traffic light.

* Do not block the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic. Keep your signs from hanging over into the street.

* Do not block the signs of, nor get within 10 feet of, our opponents. Do not interfere with any media coverage of them. Our First Amendment rights are their rights, too.

* Any arguments should be at 10 feet away to avoid conflict arising from passions on both sides. If you choose to get close to them physically, do so in friendship as fellow Americans only.

* Do not give the middle finger, call people jerks, tell them to go home or get a job.

* Take the high road. Be civil.

Join Us! - VISITORS, READ THIS FIRST

Inspired by Glenn Beck's 9-12 Project, I have started this group to unite with fellow Arizonans in an effort to refocus on the principles and values which created the United States of America, and to make a positive, liberty focused impact on our state and country.

If AFTER reading Glenn's 9 principles and 12 values (below), you find yourself in agreement with most or all of them, please join the Arizona Sons of Liberty and register on this site.

9 Principles
1. America Is Good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the external rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is known. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit of Happiness “Everyone has a natural right to choose that vocation in life which he thinks most likely to give him comfortable subsistence.” Thomas Jefferson

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
Charity “It is not everyone who asketh that deserveth charity; all however, are worth of the inquiry or the deserving may suffer.” George Washington

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
Who works for whom? “I consider the people who constitute a society or a nation as the source of all authority in that nation.” Thomas Jefferson

12 Values

* Honesty
* Reverence
* Hope
* Thrift
* Humility
* Charity
* Sincerity
* Moderation
* Hard Work
* Courage
* Personal Responsibility
* Gratitude
